MARK KRITZMAN, CFA is CEO of Windham Capital Management, LLC. He is responsible for managing research activities and investment advisory services. He is also a Founding Partner of State Street Associates, and he teaches a graduate finance course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Mark served as a Founding Director of the International Securities Exchange and has served on several boards, including the Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance, The Investment Fund for Foundations, and State Street Associates. He is also a member of several advisory and editorial boards, including the Advisory Board of GIC, the Advisory Board of the MIT Sloan Finance Group, the Advisory Board of the Tobin School of Business, the Emerging Markets Review, the Journal of Alternative Investments, the Journal of Derivatives, the Journal of Investment Management, where he is Book Review Editor, and The Journal of Portfolio Management. He has written numerous articles for academic and professional journals and is the author or co-author of seven books including A Practitioner’s Guide to Asset Allocation, Puzzles of Finance, and The Portable Financial Analyst.
Mark won Graham and Dodd scrolls in 1993 and 2002, the Research Prize from the Institute for Quantitative Investment Research in 1997, the Bernstein Fabozzi/Jacobs Levy Award nine times, the Roger F. Murray Prize from the Q-Group in 2012, and the Peter L. Bernstein Award in 2013 for Best Paper in an Institutional Investor Journal. In 2004, Mark was elected a Batten Fellow at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Virginia.
Mark has a BS in economics from St. John’s University, an MBA with distinction from New York University, and a CFA designation.
RICHARD LINDSEY, PhD is a Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Windham Capital Management, LLC.
Previously, he served as the Chief Investment Strategist, Liquid Alternative Group for Janus Capital. In this role he developed and co-managed the liquid alternative strategies and was also a member of the Janus Capital Group Global Allocation Committee. Prior to joining Janus in August 2012, Rich was a principal of the Callcott Group, LLC, a quantitative consulting group, where he was responsible for directing research activities and advisory services. For eight years Rich was president of Bear Stearns Securities Corporation and a member of the Management Committee of The Bear Stearns Companies, Inc. Before joining Bear Stearns, Rich served as the Director of Market Regulation for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and as the Chief Economist of the SEC. He was a finance professor at the Yale School of Management before joining the SEC. Rich has also served on several corporate boards including, The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF), the Options Clearing Corporation, the International Securities Exchange, and Strike Technologies. Rich has done extensive work in the areas of portfolio construction, risk management, and the trading of securities. He has held the positions of Visiting Academic at the Nikko Research Institute in Tokyo, Japan, and Visiting Economist at the New York Stock Exchange.
Rich holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, an MS in chemical engineering from Berkeley, an MBA from the University of Dallas, and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Fellow of the Courant Institute, the Chairman of the International Association for Quantitative Finance as well as the Chairman of the Quantitative Group for Finance.
STAN SHELTON, CFA is Managing Partner and Senior Advisor of Business Strategy at Windham Capital Management, LLC. Stan joined the firm in 2009 and is a member of Windham’s Management Committee.
Prior to joining Windham, Stan spent 24 years with State Street Bank and Trust Company. He was an Executive Vice President, a member of the Executive Management Committee with responsibility for State Street Global Markets, and the Chairman of State Street Global Markets, LLC, a US broker dealer. He was also a Founding Partner of State Street Associates, a collaborative financial services firm that incorporates the investment advisory and research capabilities of Windham Capital Management, FDO Partners, and State Street Global Markets.
Stan is a member of the University of Georgia Board of Trustees. Stan received a Bachelor of Arts and Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science degree from Boston College. Stan is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
LUCAS TURTON, CFA is a Managing Partner at Windham Capital Management, LLC. Lucas joined Windham in 2004 and aids in the development and management of Windham’s investment portfolios. He and his team apply Windham research to generate capital market forecasts, select securities, construct portfolios, and perform investment risk management. He is a member of Windham’s Management Committee.
Previously at Windham, he was a principal within the asset allocation and risk management technology and advisory group. He has been a guest lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Prior to business school, Lucas spent five years with United Technologies Corporation.
Lucas received a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, a Master of Science Degree from Northeastern University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Lucas is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
BETSY THEDFORD, JD, CPA is a Managing Partner and Chief Compliance Officer at Windham Capital Management, LLC. Betsy joined the firm in 2019 and is responsible for all legal and compliance matters.
Prior to joining Windham, Betsy was the Director of Compliance/Counsel and Principal of Highfields Capital Management LP where she oversaw the implementation of the compliance program and advised the firm on legal and regulatory compliance matters, including with the rules and regulations of the SEC, CFTC, NFA, and other regulators. Prior to joining Highfields in 2014, she was a Director within PwC’s Regulatory Practice specializing in the retail and alternative asset management industries. At PwC Betsy helped numerous advisers analyze their compliance environment, address regulatory change and prepare unregistered advisers for SEC registration, CFTC registration and other regulatory requirements impacting the financial services industry in the Boston and London office. Betsy first started working with asset managers in the PwC Assurance Practice, where she focused on auditing registered investment companies, hedge funds, real estate and private equity funds and performing related controls attestation engagements.
Betsy earned a Bachelors and Masters of Accountancy at the University of Colorado and graduated with Distinction from Suffolk University Law School with emphasis in Business Law and Financial Services. She is a Certified Public Accountant, member of Massachusetts Bar and sits on the Advisory Board of Back on My Feet Boston.
ROBERT BERNSTEIN is Managing Partner and Head of Business Development for Windham Capital Management, LLC. He joined Windham in 2012 and is responsible for the firm’s client relationships, sales and marketing. He is a member of Windham’s Management Committee.
Before joining Windham Capital, Rob served as U.S. Head of Business Development and Managing Director of BNP Paribas Investment Partners, where he oversaw U.S. business strategy, sales, client service and marketing. Rob was a member of the BNP Paribas Investment Partners Global Management Committee. Prior to that, he was Head of Business Development and Managing Director at Angelo Gordon Asset Management, LLC. Earlier in his career, Rob was a Principal and Senior Vice President for Webster Investment Management, LLC, the strategic investment arm of the Gordon Getty family office in San Francisco, and Senior Vice President for GE Asset Management.
Rob earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Wooster, and completed General Electric’s Executive Management and Six Sigma programs. He currently holds the Series 3 license and previously held the Series 7 and 63 licenses when affiliated with a Broker/Dealer.
ANDREW B. WEISMAN is a Managing Partner and Chief Investment Strategist of Windham Capital Management, LLC.
Andy has more than 25 years of experience as a portfolio manager of alternative investment strategies. Prior to joining the Investment Manager in 2016, Andy was the Chief Investment Officer of Janus Capital’s Liquid Alternative Group from 2012 to 2016. Prior to joining Janus Capital, he was Chief Executive Officer or WR Managed Accounts, LLC from 2008 to 2012, and Managing Director and Chief Portfolio Manager for the Merrill Lynch Hedge Fund Development and Management Group from 2005 to 2008.
Andy has a Masters in International Affairs/International Business from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a BS in Philosophy/Economics from Columbia University and has completed all of the course work and comprehensive exams toward a PhD from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. In 2002 he was awarded the Bernstein Fabozzi/Jacobs Levy Award for outstanding article published in the Journal of Portfolio Management. In 2016 he was awarded the Roger F. Murray Prize (First Place) by the Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance. Former President of the Society of Columbia Graduates.
